Platinum award for US shortline railroad
Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) has been recognized for its business initiative at Norfolk Southern’s 16th annual short-line meeting in Norfolk VA (USA).
The short line received a platinum new business development award for bringing in over 1,000 carloads of new business to the rail as part of the Norfolk Southern’s “250 Squared” programme. The scheme is designed to identify new opportunities for rail in order to provide value and additional options for shippers.
FECR, a 565 km railfreight system located along the east coast of Florida, is the exclusive rail provider for the Floridian ports of Miami, Everglades and Palm Beach. (ben)
