Freight resolutions for the New Year
Happy Singhalese New Year, which was celebrated on 14 April.
After finishing 2016 on a high with a 23.5% year-on-year increase in volumes transported (239,635 t), Sri Lankan Cargo is changing its marketing and service offering to ensure it can increase its revenue contribution to the carrier. Its current business volume accounts for about 11% of the airline's total revenue and it would like to achieve 15 to 20%.
Sri Lankan's head of cargo, Chamara Ranasinghe, explained that the Oneworld member will focus on perishables, plus products carried from and between regional markets including the Middle East and China, plus India and Europe (under interline agreements). (ah)
