Ten six-axle locos for German railfreight operator
The German rail service provider Havelländische Eisenbahn (HVLE) and the Spanish branch of the Swiss rail manufacturer Stadler have signed a contract covering the manufacture and delivery of ten six-axle Eurodual locomotives.
The powerful units, combining both electric and diesel operating modes, will be used for freight transport services in Germany. HVLE needs diesel power for the first/last mile, but the environmental and economic advantages of electric power are also very important for the company.
The railfreight operator is the launch customer of Stadler’s new generation of six-axle bi-mode locomotives. (ben)
