| Stena Line to terminate Lübeck/Travemünde-Göteborg service | 10. March 2010 |
|
Stena Line, a Swedish ferry shipping company, is terminating its freight connection from Lübeck and Travemünde (both Germany) to Gothenburg (Sweden). The goods that pass through the two German ports will be channelled through Kiel (Germany). Martin Wahl, Stena Lines marketing manager confirmed the news to the ITJ. The closure of the ferry service is concomitant with Stena Lines phasing in of new ro-pax ferries on the Kiel-Gothenburg route. An exact date for the closure of the freight-only sailing from Travemünde has not been fixed, but there are indications that it will be in autumn this year.
