Tine BA, Norway's largest producer, distributor and exporter of milk products, has chosen Buchs (Switzerland)-based Swisslog to design and build a new distribution centre in Oslo (Norway). The deal is worth about CHF 35 million. The new facility will be integrated into an existing production plant in Kalbakken/Oslo. The aim is to facilitate future growth and more efficient logistics processes. The distribution platform will have two high-bay warehouses, pallet conveyor systems, an order release module subsystem for the automatic disbursement of containers (trays), an electric suspension track system, and special pallets for the carriage of wheeled containers.
