Juan Molinar, the Mexican secretary of communications and transport, has visited NYK and met Hiroshi Hattori, a director and managing corporate officer at the company. NYK has maintained solid relations with Mexico ever since one of the company's conventional liners called the port of Manzanillo in 1925. Today, NYK containerships make four weekly calls at the port and NYK car carriers call in Mexico around seven times a month. Mexico is becoming well known as a manufacturing and consumption centre.
