Italy eager for Liebherr equipment
Deliveries to Italy set a record in 2016: Liebherr Maritime Cranes sent nine mobile harbour cranes, four reachstackers, three rail mounted gantry cranes and one ship-to-shore container crane to various ports in Italy. The equipment is mainly used for container handling.
A LHM 550 crane was handed over to Compagnia Portuale, based in Monfalcone in the Gulf of Trieste and two more went to the ports of Brindisi and Taranto in Apulia.
The Bari-based terminal operator Istop Spamat opted for a new multipurpose mobile harbour crane LHM 550, a used LHM 400 and two Liebherr LRS 545 reachstackers. The Terminal Container of Ravenna received one new LRS 545 reachstacker and three rail mounted gantry cranes, and an LHM 600 was delivered to the terminal operator Sapir Group, which has been in business since 1957.
The fourth reachstacker is due to go into service at the port of Salerno for the company Amoruso. (kd)
