50 battery-electric long-haul trucks ordered

Hegelmann has ordered 50 eActros Long Haul from Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The vehicles will be delivered to the family-owned company based in Bruchsal, Germany with the start of series production in 2024.

The eActros Long Haul will be tested on public roads for the first time this year. Intensive customer testing with prototypes that are ready for near-series production is also planned for 2023. On a single battery charge, the eActros Long Haul will have a range of around 500 km.

The vehicles use batteries with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology. They can be charged from 20 to 80% in well under 30 minutes at a charging station with about one megawatt of power. Three battery packs deliver a total installed capacity of more than 600 kWh. (ben)
