A big slice of the cake for Swiss Combi

Swiss Combi – an entity comprised of the logistics service providers Planzer (40%), Camion Transport (40%), Galliker (10%) and Bertschi (10%) – have obtained a 35% stake in the Swiss railfreight operator SBB Cargo. Switzerland’s national railway SBB will retain the remaining 65% stake in SBB Cargo. The competition authorities still have to approve the deal.

Under the new structure, the SBB Cargo board will comprise seven members including two representatives of SBB, which has the option of appointing up to four members. Swiss Combi will have two members on the board, namely Nils Planzer (Planzer Holding) and Josef Jäger (Camion Transport). There will also be an independent board of directors.

The appointment of the new chairman of the board of directors is scheduled for 2020, according to a joint communication published by the logistics companies. (ben)
