A South Floridian matter

GA Telesis from Fort Lauderdale (pictured), which is already a customer of the Miami-based MRO Aeronautical Engineers (AEI), is exercising an option for a second Boeing B737-800SF freighter conversion. This follows an announcement for a first B737-800SF, awarded in July. The second modification will commence in January 2021 and is scheduled for re-delivery in May 2021. GA Telesis will promote the units on its multi-strategy aviation platform called ‘leasing, investments, finance and trading’.

Robert Convey, AEI’s senior vice-president for sales and marketing, underlined the fact that "GA Telesis exercising an option immediately after the first order shows its focus on the air cargo sector and further supports prospects for the B737-800SF as the dominant freighter in the narrowbody market for the foreseeable future."
