Achim Martinka named VP Germany at Lufthansa Cargo

Achim Martinka, previously head of the One Cargo project, has been named vice president Germany of Lufthansa Cargo. He succeeds J. Florian Pfaff, who took over the position as vice president Asia Pacific of the airfreight carrier on 1 June 2019.

Business economist Martinka started his career at Lufthansa Cargo in 2000 as senior manager global accounts. After various postings in Europe he moved to Atlanta (GA, USA) in 2010 as head of area management Americas. In 2016 he was appointed head of area management Europe & Africa in Frankfurt (Germany).

Since 2017 Martinka has been in charge of the One Cargo project, which aims at strengthening the cooperation between SwissWorldCargo and Lufthansa Cargo. The new position was filled in line with Lufthansa's usual rotation policy for senior management posts. (mw)
