ACT renews EcoPorts status

Aqaba container terminal (Act) in Jordan has renewed its certification under the 'EcoPorts port environmental review system' (Pers) for the fourth time. A member of EcoPorts since 2013, Act continues to demonstrate commitment to sustainability and environmental performance according to european sea ports organisation (Espo) secretary general Isabelle Ryckbost. She congratulated the terminal, noting its growing investments in environmental protection and its efforts to train staff in sustainability.

Tim Verhoeven, Espo senior policy advisor and EcoPorts coordinator, added that ACT’s recertification reflects "a strong culture of environmental responsibility and improvement." The audit is conducted by Lrqa Nederland B.V., and each certificate remains valid for two years before review. (js)
