AerCap Cargo delivers first Boeing 777-300


AerCap Holdings has delivered the first of three Boeing 777-300Ersf converted aircraft to Fly Meta Leasing marking a significant milestone for the aviation leasing company. The delivery occurred on 21 November 2025, with the remaining two aircraft set to arrive in Q2 and Q4 of 2026. This aircraft, known as "The Big Twin", is the inaugural passenger-to-freighter conversion of the Boeing 777-300ER and received FAA and CAAI certification as of 31 August 2025.

The Boeing 777-300Ersf will be operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic under the Hungary Air brand, utilising a crew maintenance and insurance contract. Rich Greener, head of AerCap Cargo, expressed enthusiasm for the delivery, highlighting the aircraft's 25% increased capacity compared to existing twin-engine freighters, alongside its cost efficiencies and operational capabilities. Helen Chen, CEO of Fly Meta, noted the aircraft's role in bolstering their long-term freighter strategy, enhancing their capacity to meet expanding global e-commerce and cargo demands.
