Allied Air receives its first B737-800SF

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has redelivered the first B737-800SF freighter conversion to Allied Air. In March of this year, the Nigeria-based airline entered into an agreement with the p2f conversion company from Florida for two B737-800SF conversions (+ two options).

MSN 36846, the world's youngest B737-800 converted to date, turns Allied Air, which is recognised by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority as a national flag carrier, into the first airline in Africa to own and operate a B737-800SF on the continent.

The AEI B737-800SF offers a main deck payload of up to 23.9 t through 11 full height 88” x 125” ULD positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH. The conversion also includes new floor beams aft of the wing box and an 86” x 137” main cargo door with a single vent door system. (ah)
