Another step on the way to new FTC in Hof
Another milestone has been set on the way to developing the new freight traffic centre (FTC) in Hof, on the German-Czech border. The federal state of Bavaria has set aside funds of EUR 6.6 million to implement the project. Preliminary work on the site of a former marshalling yard has already been completed.
The new funding will be used to build a new access road to the FTC. The town of Hof purchased the around 10 ha site from Germany’s national railway DB in 2010, with the aim of developing a new FTC.
In addition to extra space for storage facilities, the project includes a plan to build a new logistics park. (ben)
