ASL Airlines Australia adds second B737-800BCF

ASL Airlines Australia has added a second Boeing B737-800BCF to its fleet, marking another step in its regional cargo expansion.

The aircraft, converted in 2022, will enter service by late July and support operations between Australia and New Zealand. It joins the first B737-800BCF delivered in 2024 (pictured), which was the first of its type certified in Australia.

With a payload of up to 23 t and lower emissions than older models, the aircraft aligns with ASL’s strategy to improve efficiency and sustainability. CEO Stefan Oechsner highlighted the support of the wider ASL Aviation Holdings network, which acquired ASLA in 2023.

The group is the world’s largest operator of B737 freighters and supports more than 150 airports globally. The move reflects surging demand for reliable next-day air cargo solutions in the Australasia-Pacific region and ASLA’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. (ah)
