Automated truck handling

BASF is building a future-oriented digital system for the handling of 2,500 trucks per day at its headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The project includes the comprehensive digitalisation and automation of all processes for a fast and error-free handling of transport services.

BASF is relying on Trusted Carrier, an initiative of the Federal Association of Road Haulage Logistics (Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik BGL), to ensure a fully digital, cloud- and sensor-based handling of the trucks with direct access to the plant premises - without the need for the driver to leave the vehicle and register in person on site. The system will be available to the first transport partners and their drivers from spring 2023. (ben)
