Bayernhafen marks 100 years of logistics excellence
Bayernhafen has celebrated its 100th anniversary with a major event in Munich's Deutsches Museum last week, preceeded by regional celebrations across its six port locations.
The success story began on 27 August 1925, when the port offices in Aschaffenburg, Regensburg, Passau and Ludwigshafen were brought together under the Bavarian State Port Administration, later joined by Bamberg in 1958 and Nuremberg in 1966. Since 2005, Bayernhafen GmbH & Co. KG has operated as a private company with the Free State of Bavaria as sole shareholder.
Today, the six Bayernhafen locations host over 400 companies and serve as vital multimodal logistics hubs linking inland waterways, rail and road. With around 800 hectares of logistics space and continuous investment in trimodal infrastructure, Bayernhafen remains a cornerstone of Bavaria’s industrial supply chains and a gateway to global trade.
