Canadian North installing MMRO facility in Edmonton
Canadian North Airlines is to establish its own manufacturing, maintenance, repair and operations (MMRO) facility within its 8,360 sqm hangar at Edmonton airport. The site will open in Q1/2018.
The carrier says it is the latest step in its ongoing growth, and diversification beyond its core mission of providing safe, reliable and efficient passenger and cargo services to communities across Canada's Northwest Territories and Nunavut from its southern gateways of Edmonton and Ottawa.
Once the MMRO facility is operational, Canadian North will be able to fulfil all of its line maintenance, heavy maintenance and manufacturing requirements for its fleet of Boeing B737-300, B737-200 and Bombardier Dash-8 aircraft under its own roof. (ah)
