Cargoline transports 12.2 million shipments
The German general cargo alliance handled 12.2 million outbound shipments and generated a turnover of EUR 1.38 billion (+1.5%) in 2017. The increase in overland traffic in Europe was due in part to procurement logistics and consignments to Austria, Italy and France.
To ensure further stable growth, the alliance introduced several changes in 2017. They include, for example, the establishment of Gate56 Systemverkehre, a subsidiary based in the Koblenz conurbation, and a closer collaboration with Rhenus, which should result in a partnership contract from 2019.
Cargoline saw positive developments in other sectors as well. It was able to take on more employees – including many trainees – despite the lack of personnel throughout the industry. (mw)
