Cargolux to Zhengzhou/Iraqi to London
Cargolux finally started its scheduled service between Luxembourg and Zhengzou (China) on 14 June. The operation had been planned a while ago (see ITJ 21-22/2014, p. 25), but failed to obtain all necessary permits from the relevant authorities. Now everything is in place and the time is appropriate, as the airline's CEO Dirk Reich told the ITJ during the Air Cargo China exhibition that took place from Tuesday 16 June to Thursday 19 June in Shanghai.
With regard to the contents of today's printed issue no. 23-26, Iraqi Airways has discontinued two weekly Baghdad – Erbil – Vienna (Austria) flights, with effect from 13 June. This modification of the initial plans is the result of an operation shift to London Gatwick (UK) from 24 June, as Iraqi Airways' departures will operate via Vienna, instead of Malmo (Sweden). The overall number of services will increase from three to five weekly starting 5 July, with the addition of a second weekly service to/from Sulaymaniyah, and a new weekly service to/from Erbil, both via Vienna and London Gatwick.
