China Eastern sets record
On 11 December 2025 China Eastern Air Logistics successfully transported 88.75 t of fresh Chilean cherries from Chile to Shanghai Pudong international airport in a record 24 hours aboard its Cold Chain Express aircraft CK292. This milestone marks the launch of the airline's dedicated cherry charter programme for the new season, enhancing its competitiveness in fresh produce logistics.
Already, China Eastern has flown over 1,100 t of cherries to various ports in China. The airline, with its subsidiary China Eastern Cold Chain, has established a high-frequency logistics system by coordinating flights and integrating resources from nine global airlines. By leveraging digital tools for temperature control and intelligent dispatch, the company ensures cherries reach consumers within 48 hours at affordable prices. With strong ties to Chile, China Eastern remains the largest carrier of Chilean cherries, expanding its global fresh supply chain capabilities and reinforcing its presence in the market.
