Contract logistics arm in Bremen goes to CLI
Ipsen Logistics has wound up its contract logistics activities in Bremen (Germany). The move is connected to the company’s concentration on its core business – sea and air freight forwarding, as well as export packing. Compass Logistics International (CLI), a logistics group that co-partnered Ipsen Contract Logistics (ICL) in Bremen, is taking over the entire firm.
CLI already acquired a 50% stake in ICL at the beginning of the year. Ipsen Logistics’ decision to end the business in Bremen was the outcome of prolonged deliberations connected to a new strategic alignment. Ipsen Logistics has therefore withdrawn from the firm Ipsen Contract Logistics and sold its shareholding to the CLI logistics group.
CLI will retain the company and use the takeover to boost contract logistics activities in northern Germany. The company name will be changed at short notice.
