Crossing Europe's north in 14 hours

The DB Cargo family supplies Denmark and Sweden with consumer goods, paper and steel within just half a day. The Scandinavian Rail Shuttle, a new, direct rail transport solution offered by DB Cargo Scandinavia as cross-border operator, has recently started to run with three round trips per week.

The shuttle operates between the freight hub Taulov on the Jutland peninsula in Denmark and Katrineholm near Stockholm in Sweden. DB Cargo Scandinavia is the first provider ever to offer direct and regular intermodal rail transport between Denmark and Sweden.

The shuttle takes just 14 hours to transport trailers, swap bodies and containers between the main economic centres in Denmark and Sweden overnight, with a capacity of up to 38 load units. The service will be extended to five round trips per week from autumn 2021. (ben)
