DHL expands robotics rollout

DHL Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with robotics company Boston Dynamics to deploy more than 1,000 additional "Stretch" robots across divisions. Stretch, which automates unloading, can handle up to 700 boxes per hour. Following deployments in North America, the UK and Europe, DHL will use the robots group-wide, to boost its automation strategy and ease physically demanding tasks.

DHL contributes operational test environments and industry insights. This strategic shift is part of DHL’s broader EUR 1 billion automation investment and its 2030 strategy to formalise technology partnerships. Over 7,500 robots are already in use across DHL’s global sites. (js)
