Doug Otto named CEO of Alabama Port Authority

The Alabama Port Authority Board has appointed Doug Otto as its permanent director and CEO, following his successful role as interim CEO since August. Otto's leadership comes at a pivotal time, with over $ 1.1 bn invested in infrastructure projects such as the Mobile harbour deepening to 50 feet, numerous terminal expansions and a new intermodal transfer facility in Montgomery.

His extensive experience, including roles with the US Army Corps of Engineers and as a US Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter, positions him well to guide the port through this period of growth and major development. Otto's tenure aligns with ongoing capital projects and a strategic review, aiming to shape the port's long-term future and strengthen Alabama's vital role in global trade.
