DSV opens transpacific air cargo service

Because of the reduced number of air services due to the risk of spreading the coronavirus, there is an estimated 5,000 t less air cargo capacity available per day to/from Mainland China. "Determined to assist our customers in tackling some of the resulting backlogs and offset supply chain disruptions, DSV offers a unique solution via our charter network," the forwarder said.

Beginning today, 25 February 2020, DSV will operate a B747-8F three times per week between Huntsville in the USA and Shanghai PVG, ensuring that DSV will be fully in control of the capacity available on this charter solution. Taking advantage of the hub and spoke model Panalpina had been running in Alabama, it can connect all continents via the DSV controlled charter network and ensure DSV ground handling at uncongested airports.
