Duisburg terminal sharpens intermodal profile
The DeCeTe container terminal in Duisburg (Germany), has sharpened its intermodal profile by modernising the cranes, renewing the crane track, augmenting the existing rail track and building a second one, as well as relocating and widening the exit gate.
click here These improvements have speeded up loading and discharging the 40 barges per week that currently call at DeCeTe. By widening the exit to two lanes, the terminal’s capacity has been boosted to more than 200,000 HGVs per year.
follow link After constructing the rail tracks, DeCeTe has two, 675 m long sidings at its disposal. The work enables the terminal to manage the increasing container flows to/from Rotterdam and Antwerp, as well as rising demand from China. (kd)
