Dutch-German JV for inland waterway services
On 24 September the firms J. Müller, based in Brake (Germany), and Oorburg Intermodaal in Nieuwege (Netherlands), are launching a joint venture named Müller & Oorburg Logistics. The Dutch-German JV will be headquartered in Bremen (Germany).
The terminals in Brake and Bremen handle a waterside volume of around 8 million t per year. The partners said that real added value will be created for clients by bundling logistics sub-sections such as transport, storage and transhipment.
The Dutch-German constellation of inland waterway logistics for the whole of Europe is unique and links tradition with innovation.
Michiel van Pelt, an experienced and esteemed specialist, has been recruited for the operative business. The JV managing directors are Wilhelm Heyer and John Oorburg. (kd)
