Egypt and UAE deepen aviation ties

During an official visit to Abu Dhabi, Egypt’s minister of civil aviation, Dr Sameh El-Hefny (second from the left), witnessed the signing of five MoUs between EgyptAir Holding, its subsidiaries, and Abu Dhabi Aviation Group.

A key agreement was signed between EgyptAir Cargo and Maximus Air to expand regional freight capacity, launch new cargo routes, and build an integrated logistics platform. Maximus, a UAE-based carrier specialising in outsized and relief cargo, operates Antonov and Ilyushin freighters and supports humanitarian missions worldwide. The deal aims to enhance efficiency through joint know-how and increase competitiveness in the region.

El-Hefny highlighted the MoUs as a model for strategic partnership and innovation. Emirati officials, including GCAA president Saif Al Suwaidi and ADA CEO Mahmoud Al Hameli, stressed their commitment to strengthening aviation and logistics ties between both countries. (ah)
