Elvis dissolves cool load network
The European full and part load network Elvis dissolved its cool load network at the end of 2017. Elvis was unable to develop a network solution due to the sector’s unfavourable conditions. The efforts that were needed to set up the network could not be justified and there were too few benefits for members.
Jochen Eschborn, CEO of Elvis, stated that collaborating in the cool load segment was far more difficult than in other transport markets. It was impossible to standardize goods and market requirements, and stringent restrictions applied when combining shipments.
Only 13 forwarders with 21 locations and 700 HGVs were working together at the end. The ensuing free capacities will be used to establish a warehouse sector, among others. (mw)
