Emirates Skycargo even bigger in 2018


After a volume of 2.5 million t of cargo in 2017, Emirates Skycargo, the freight division of Emirates, flew close to 2.6 million t of cargo across six continents last year. The cargo hold capacity of over 265 aircraft and the maindeck capacity of 13 B777Fs and one B747F were used to transport goods with a direct positive impact on millions of lives.

 

In 2018, the airline's scheduled services and 395 charter flights carried more than 73,000 t of pharmaceutical cargo, over 1,100 t of food every single day, 7,900 domestic cats and dogs, over 1,140 premium and luxury cars and Khalifasat, the first satellite developed and built by Emirati engineers at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (UAE).

 

The satellite was successfully launched and went into orbit around the earth in November 2018. (ah)
