Emirates starts Stansted service
Emirates Skycargo is adding its seventh and eighth destinations in the UK, namely London Stansted and Edinburgh, to its global network of over 155 destinations, using the up to 20 t belly capacity per flight offered by a daily operating B777-300ER aircraft. This equates to an additional cargo capacity of over 500 t per week for the UK market.
Starting today (8 June 2018), the Stansted service complements Emirate's flights to the London gateways Heathrow and Gatwick, which account for biggest portion of the cargo carrier’s total UK cargo volumes.
In the last four years, the airline has also facilitated exports and imports of over 45,000 t of cargo from Glasgow. From October, Emirate’s new service to Edinburgh will stimulate further opportunities for global trade from Scotland. (ah)
