Emons invests EUR 13.5 million in new logistics facility

Emons has made the first cut of the spade for its new freight forwarding hub in Kenzingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany). On a 30,000 sqm plot the company is setting up an area of roughly 3,000 sqm for handling general cargo.

With 42 gates, the state-of-the-art facility will replace the longest-serving location in Freiburg. The new centre will provide optimal conditions for efficient freight forwarding, logistics and transport processes. Emons is also putting up a 12.5 m high and 4,500 sqm large logistics hall and a 1,210 sqm office building with three storeys.

With adjoining buildings for technical and recycling purposes, the sprinkler tank and a garage, the entire usable space will amount to about 9,000 sqm. The facility is expected to be completed by December 2020 and will cost EUR 13.5 million. (mw)
