Eurogate adds Fenyeslitke terminal to its network

Eurogate Rail Hungary (ERH) is incorporating the East-West Gate terminal (EWG) in Fenyeslitke in Hungary into its rail network. The two companies have signed a cooperation agreement to this effect.

Under this agreement, ERH will offer connections to Fenyeslitke as a seamless, non-stop block train service from destinations in Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Romania. ERH customers will be able to use EWG’s transhipment, storage services as well as the modern technological equipment.

The terminal’s cranes, and its road and rail access gates are remotely operated from a control centre by means of 5G technology. A 3D digital twin of the terminal also monitors the facility’s operations in real time. The terminal is expected to open in June following the necessary railway authorisation. (ben)
