Ezhou Huahu airport becomes central China hub


Ezhou Huahu International Airport has become a major airfreight hub in China, with international freight rising 138% in the first three quarters of 2025. It added 24 new routes, handling over 249,000 t of international freight – up 261% from 2024 – and operating nearly 6,500 flights. The airport has the largest freight network in central China, with 45 international routes and extensive domestic coverage, enabling fast delivery of high-value goods and perishables like lychees and cherries.

 

Its strategic location allows quick access to major global markets. The development of the Ezhou Airport Bonded Zone has attracted 140 companies, boosting regional industry, especially in biotech and manufacturing. Customs clearance efficiency has improved by over 30%, with some shipments clearing in just 15 minutes, further strengthening Ezhou's position as a key gateway in China's international trade and the Air Silk Road.
