Finnair Cargo braves storm in September
In September, Finnair's available scheduled cargo tonne kilometres increased by 13.7% year-on-year. Revenue scheduled cargo tonne kilometres rose by 3.7%, driven mostly by the positive cargo market development in Japan despite typhoon Jebi, which disrupted air cargo flows, especially in the Osaka area, for several weeks.
The positive development was also seen in Finland and routes to the USA. Finnair’s total cargo capacity includes three weekly freighter flights between Helsinki and Brussels, operated by DHL.
Cargo flight volumes decreased vis-a-vis the comparative period when Finnair rented cargo space from Japan Airlines. (ah)
