First SkyCourier version for Africa

Textron Aviation will deliver the first aero-medical Cessna SkyCourier in Africa to Tassili Travail Aérien (TTA), a subsidiary of Sonatrach.

The Algerian operator, based in Algiers and Hassi Messaoud, has ordered two SkyCouriers, including one equipped with the 'Lifeport Plus Powered Medevac System'. allowing TTA to quickly switch from passenger or cargo to medevac missions and other transport needs in Algeria’s energy sector.

The SkyCourier’s flat-floor cabin can hold up to 2.7 t of cargo or be reconfigured for medevac missions. Its large cargo door and ability to carry up to three LD3 containers offer operational flexibility.

Textron sees the deal, which was presented at last week's Paris Air Show, as a milestone for the versatile twin-turboprop, which supports special missions, cargo and passenger operations. The SkyCourier’s short-runway capabilities and rugged design support both critical and routine missions in challenging environments. TTA’s order marks the type’s African market debut. Delivery is scheduled for 2026.  (ah)
