From policy to propulsion - maritime industry to go nuclear?

Core Power has named Charlotte, Baroness Vere, as its new vice-president of international relations.

A former UK maritime minister, Vere brings extensive experience in maritime policy, green finance and regulatory affairs with her. In her new role, she’ll lead efforts to build international partnerships and help establish regulatory frameworks for the deployment of floating nuclear power stations and nuclear-powered vessels.

“Global collaboration is vital to create the necessary framework of regulation and legislation,” she said.

Core Power is pioneering advanced nuclear solutions for shipping, coastal infrastructure and heavy industry, and sees Vere’s appointment as a key step in accelerating its global influence. Founded in 2018, the British company works with over 60 strategic partners in the maritime and energy sectors. (ah)
