Groupage service from Duisburg to Wuhan
Switzerland-based Militzer & Münch (M&M) has established a new weekly rail service from Duisburg (Germany) to Wuhan (China) for smaller amounts of goods. They will be carried as less than container load (LCL/ groupage) shipments.
M&M China has successfully handled the first consolidation box from door to door on the around 10,550 km route. The goods were in transit for 26 days, 18 of which were spent on a train. Rail transport is approximately 70% cheaper than airfreight and more than twice as fast as seafreight.
M&M China is the only service provider in the market to offer such a service. (ben)
