Heavy transport along purpose-built gravel road

DSV has managed the delivery of 54 Siemens wind turbines to the Clyde wind farm in Scotland. The blades, nacelles and hubs were shipped from the Danish cities of Aarhus and Aalborg to the King George V Docks in Glasgow. The towers, however, were collected from a factory in nearby Campeltown and shipped to Glasgow.

The last leg of the transport from Glasgow to the Clyde wind farm was along a purpose-built road through hilly terrain roughly 100 km southeast of Glasgow. 600 loads, many of which were oversize with a total weight of up to 150 t, were conveyed from the Glasgow waterfront to the wind farm.
