Heuver Tyre Wholesale now counting on Asia-Euro railway
Heuver Tyre Wholesale, headquartered in the Netherlands, has added an additional transport corridor for tyre deliveries from China. Instead of choosing a maritime shipping route, the company is using the new AsiaEur railway line that directly connects several locations in China with Hamburg (Germany). The rail link’s transit time for containers is a mere two weeks, half of that required for the ocean route.
Demand for tyres and the number of containers rose steeply in recent years thanks to an exclusive partnership with Aeolus. Heuver found it increasingly difficult to secure sufficient stocks in Europe when the company relied solely on maritime transport. (ben)
