Honold and Husqvarna establish partnership

The German service provider Honold has set up a five-year strategic contract and distribution logistics partnership with the logistics unit of the Husqvarna group, a Swedish garden equipment manufacturer.

The latter now has in excess of 20,000 pallet slots for storage, retrieval and value added services on a 12,000 sqm site in Neu-Ulm (Germany). Honold has invested EUR 1.8 million in the project. Up to 1,000 inbound and outbound pallets per day can be processed in a two shift operation at the Neu-Ulm facility.

The system can be easily converted to a three-shift operation to cater for seasonal peaks and/or increased demand. Additional processes can be fulfilled via pallet storage and retrieval at the logistics centre. (mw)
