Increased frequency for China trains

Since the launch of a new China train last November, the sixth train from Xushou (China) has meanwhile arrived in the port of Hamburg (Germany). And the service will be expanded further. Hamburg's port authority is expecting at least two more trains from the Xuzhou in May.

The trains of the Xuzhou-Europe Railway Express depart from Tongshan railfreight terminal and run through Russia and Poland to Hamburg, where the containers are sent on to other destinations in Europe. In recent years, 232 links have been established between 20 Chinese destinations and Hamburg.

Throughput on intercontinental rail traffic between Hamburg and China alone increased by at least 7% in 2020. Almost 40 trains per week are meanwhile running between various provinces in China and Europe’s largest rail port. (ben)
