Investment in DP World’s Constanta terminal
After "Antwerp World Gateway" and "London Gateway", DP World is planning to expand its Constanta terminal (Romania) to turn it into a global trade hub, with a EUR 38 million grant from the Romania’s ministry of transport and the European Union.
As well as developing a new ro-ro terminal, DP World wants to expand its Constanta terminal digitally by implementing new technology such as IoT solutions and modern terminal operating systems.
DP World Constanta will remain one of the Black Sea’s “most important” cargo and vehicle ports. The investment will enable it to become a multimodal hub with large storage facilities for its customers. Cargo volumes are expected to increase by around 1 million t per annum, starting in Q3/2023. (lh)
