Investment targets Vietnam’s fast-growing air cargo

A.P. Moller Capital, in partnership with VinaCapital, has agreed to invest in ALS Cargo Terminal (ALSC) at Hanoi’s Noi Bai international airport. The deal marks A.P. Moller Capital’s first entry into Vietnam’s transport sector and the launch of a broader platform strategy in the country’s logistics industry.

ALSC handles around 250,000 t of air cargo annually for carriers, including Korean Air, Emirates and Cathay Pacific, and plans to expand capacity to meet rising demand. "This partnership will enable ALSC to expand and play a leading role in Vietnam’s logistics growth," said Phung Tien Toan, founder of ALS. Jens Thomassen, partner at A.P. Moller Capital, pointed to automation, expansion and ESG as key levers, while VinaCapital’s CEO and founding partner Don Lam stressed that improved infrastructure is vital for Vietnam’s growth.
