Large-scale testing in Frankfurt

Despite the cancellation of the majority of passenger flights, Frankfurt airport recently reported more goods throughput than in the previous year, with FCS Frankfurt Cargo Services and LUG Aircargo Handling moving up to three times more volumes.

In order to ensure better protection of the workforce against infection, these major air cargo handling companies and Perishable Center Frankfurt conducted a large-scale Corona testing campaign at Frankfurt airport. A total of around 1,500 employees, which together handle around 40% of the air freight at the European air cargo hub, were tested in the first week of January.

Nina Strippel, LUG site manager and COO: "The protection of our employees has top priority for us, which is why we strongly supported the testing initiative." (ah)
