Launch after completing a complex logistics project

ViaSat’s second ultra-high-capacity satellite, ViaSat-3 Flight 2 (VS-3 F2), has reached Cape Canaveral aboard an Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft ahead of today’s planned launch.

Built by Boeing in California, the 6.4-tonne satellite was flown from Los Angeles to Florida in a precision-controlled container. Loading the Antonov took nearly six hours, reflecting the complexity of handling such high-value cargo.

"The safe delivery of VS-3 F2 marks a major milestone," said Dave Abrahamian, Viasat VP Space Systems. Launching on a ULA Atlas V 551, the satellite will more than double Viasat’s capacity, adding over 1 Tbps across the Americas once operational in 2026 — a mission powered by precise logistics and engineering.
