Leipzig/Halle logistics network seeks closer contacts in Russia

The Leipzig/Halle logistics network is augmenting its contacts with Russia. Representatives of the German industry cluster recently travelled to Kazan and met the Republic of Tatarstan’s minister for transport and traffic, Lenar Rinatovich Safin. The aim of the visit was to explore cooperation opportunities between the regions.

Several companies in the Leipzig/Halle logistics network, which currently has around 130 members, have business relationships with Russia, or see market potential there. Kazan, the capital of Tartarstan, is Russia’s eighth largest metropolis and a significant scientific and industrial location, as well as a transport hub.

To further promote relations, the Leipzig/Halle logistics network became a member of the German-Russian economic association last year. The network has also been regularly represented at the Trans Russia trade fair since 2010. (mw)
