L.I.T. hoists flag in Austria

The German logistics provider L.I.T. is opening its first location abroad. The new branch office in Villach (Austria), will promote traffic between the triangular region formed by Austria, Italy and Germany. L.I.T.’s service range in Austria will focus on heavylift haulage. The service provider also intends to gain a greater number of major international clients from the packaging and insulation industries. Marco della Pietra, L.I.T.’s branch manager in Villach, pointed out: “The Alplog Carinthia logistics hub’s proximity to Villach turns the latter into a bridgehead for the whole of Europe, and the office is also optimally linked to motorways, railways and ports.” The company currently loads/unloads between 15 and 20 HGVs per day. The volume is to be boosted to between 30 and 50 jumbo articulated lorries per day in 2019. L.I.T. focuses on the deployment of its own fleet, and also works for subcontractors. (mw)
